Solar Energy

This is my solar model. I made it out of cardboard. First the sun’s rays travel from the sun to the solar panel. From the solar panels the electricity goes to the inverter to turn the DC electricity into AC electricity .The person can use the electricity in lots of different ways such as on her i pad and her television.

Using Popplet on the iPad

Check out the brainstorm we made with our new app on the iPad. It is called Popplet. It was fun reflecting on what we have done so far this year. Do you like how we colour coded our brainstorm into different categories?

Scared of Spiders???

I thought this was pretty amazing and thought you might find it interesting to find out why there are so many spider webs in this photo. I wonder if you can find Hikurangi on our New Zealand map (clue: it is in the North Island).

Earthquakes, Cathedral and a Swim

We woke to rain, but as the sun came up we realised it had been snowing on the foothills even with a very light dusting on the tips of the tree at White Rock. The trip on the bus into Nelson was toasty warm with the heaters blearing. Our first stop was the Nelson Museum, then to the Cathedral and swim at the ASB Aquatic Centre to top it all off. Here is a glimpse into our day.
Have you got your survival kit ready?
Hehehehe....we liked this!
